Maureen Louise Mitchell

Maureen Louise Mitchell (nee Rosenberg) passed away peacefully in her sleep at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on March 4, 2019, in her 81st year. Predeceased by her husband John Bruce Mitchell (July 6, 2015). Lovingly remembered by her son Kevin, daughters Cheryl Beck (Herb), Deborah Lynn, and Winston our long-haired miniature Dachshund. Proud grandmother to Jennifer Beck, Rodger Beck (Carly), Robyn Martin (Harley), and Alex Beck, and great-grandchildren Austin, Taylor, Dallas, Lyla, and Penny. She is survived by sisters Mavis, Karen (Deter), and sister-in-law Lois Rosenberg. Survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Herb and Laura Rosenberg (nee Martin), and her brother Ed Rosenberg. Maureen worked at Babcock and Wilcox Galt. From the time she got married in 1957 until her death, she was a homemaker. She was a member of Saint John's Anglican Church in Cambridge and served on the Altar Guild. Maureen was a member of Queen Rebekah Lodge #54 and Crystal Rebekah Lodge #286 for 52 years. In keeping with Maureen's wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home, and cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 23rd at Saint John's Anglican Church (567 Queenston Road, Cambridge) at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Mount View Cemetery, Cambridge. Reception to follow in the church hall following the interment. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maureen's name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation, or Camp Trillium. A Lodge Memorial Service by Crystal Rebekah Lodge #286 will take place prior to the church service.
