Mina lived for 40 years at Kathleen Elliot Court in Cambridge where she had many friends. She was one of the first and longest standing residents there and loved by all. Mina was born in Flatrock, Newfoundland and spent her married life on Bell Island. Widowed at the young age of 38 and left to raise 8 children alone, she rose to the challenge and did an amazing job.
Mina was both selfless and generous. She never complained, always had a positive outlook, and possessed a strength that amazed all around her. Mina always put her family first and never wanted to be a bother to anyone. She was fun loving with a witty sense of humour and a contagious laugh. She could always be counted on to be ready to go shopping in a moment's notice.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held at T. Little Funeral Home (223 Main Street, Cambridge) on Wednesday February 27, 2019 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at The Salvation Army Citadel (12 Shade Street, Cambridge) on Thursday February 28, 2019 at 11:00 am with inurnment to follow at Mount View Cemetery (80 Blenheim Road, Cambridge). A reception will then follow at The Salvation Army Citadel.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Lisaard House of Cambridge would be gratefully appreciated.
