IN THE CARE OF
Barthel Funeral Home
William David Jacques passed away peacefully in his 86th year.
Predeceased by his father, George Jacques [WWI vet] and mother, Mary Jacques. Also predeceased by Joan, his loving wife of 58 years. Bill was the youngest of his siblings to pass. These were Janet, Yvonne (Lloyd), Jack [WWII vet] (June), George/Dodie (Delores) and Robert (Joyce). Over many years they all had the greatest of times together. Born and raised in Preston, he was proud of his roots and was a lifelong parishioner of St. Clements Church. He leaves behind his children, Bradley (Kelly), Larry, Susie (Kevin), Tim (Michelle), Andy and Tom (Vicki), as well as grandchildren Tyler, Paul (Nicole), Katie (Ruben), John, Carter and one great grandchild, Amber. Bill was a true gentleman—affable, of good humor and wit, generous and always willing to please. He endeared himself to everyone he met. Bill and Joan raised a large family and always put them first. We will miss him dearly. As his memory and speech faded he continued to smile and laugh and in his later years endeared himself to the wonderful, giving staff at Queens Square and Hilltop Manor. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Donations in his name can be made to St. Clements Church or the Alzheimer’s Society.
