William Joseph Nelson

Passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Stirling Heights LTC in his 89th year. He will be forever remembered by his children; Michelle Crowell (Bernie), Gregory Nelson (Doris) and Karen Monteiro (Walter), grandchildren; Devon (Heidi), Melissa (Corey), Christian (Jenna), Sabrina (Tom), Shelby (Luke), Corry (Malika), and Haille (Cam) and great-grandchildren; Levi, Isabella, Sofia, Noah, Carter, Liam, Kaleb, and Lewis. Bill is reunited with his beloved wife of 33 years, Cornelia “Corry” (1992). He is also predeceased by his sisters; Mary, Noreen, Joan and Theresa and his brother Gerry. After a successful career in construction, Bill and Corry opened Branson's Restaurant in 1981. The pub was a favourite spot for food and good times for many Cambridge residents until 2000. This is how Bill will best be remembered, along with his avid love of golf. The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at Stirling Heights for their compassionate care. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will take place at the Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge (519-621-1650) on Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. The Memorial Service to celebrate his life will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment at Mount View Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Bill’s memory to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by his family.
