Obituary of Catherine Grace Asman
Catherine Grace Asman, 87, of Denver, passed away on June 21st in Centennial, Colorado. She was born Catherine Grace Armstrong in North Bay, Ontario, Canada to William and Grace Armstrong. Catherine grew up in Ontario with her two brothers, and the family called her Honey, so much so that she didn't even know her name was Catherine until she was much older. She always loved Catherine though, and made sure everyone called her Catherine, with a C, and not Cathy. Catherine left Canada, although, she was a proud Canadian, to escape the cold winters. She met August Howard Asman by a mutual friend while in California, and she and Gus married in 1958 in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. They returned to California following their wedding to start their lives. They had an agreement that when Catherine became pregnant or they bought their first house, that she would quit working as an Administrative Assistant, and when they bought their first house, that's just what she did. Gus was in sales, and so many times he would call Catherine and let her know that they would be entertaining that evening. He usually only gave her about 45 minutes notice, and being quick and bright, Catherine always pulled something amazing together. On top of being quite the entertainer, she as also mother, chauffer, hockey mom, and wife. She raised Adriane, Andrea, and Paul, going to all of their events, having her cowbells at hockey games, and simply being a loving mother. Catherine will be deeply missed by her children, Adriane (Paul) of Centennial, CO, Paul (Jennifer) of Roswell, GA, and Andrea (Bill) of Centennial, CO, . She is also survived by grandchildren, William, Sam, Howard, Ashley, Katherine and Taid; as well as, brother, Arthur "Pud" of Whitby, Ontario, Canada. She is preceded in death by her husband, August "Gus" Asman. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 2PM at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary in Centennial, Colorado.
