Obituary of Ida "Kitty" Scivicque
Ida Mae (Kitty) Wentzell Scivicque was born on July 4th, 1932, the daughter of the late Carleton and Edith Wentzell. Although she was born in New York City, New York, she lived in Bay St. Louis, MS from 1960-1963. Then, in 1964, she moved to New Orleans and made it home. After Hurricane Katrina, she relocated to Baton Rouge. She was co-owner/founder of Crescent City Automobile Insurance Company in New Orleans where she and her loving late husband Charles Crawford Scivicque serviced clients together for many years. Kitty was preceded in death by her daughters-in-law, Susan Musso Hamilton and Diane Hamilton, and stepson Charles “Chuck” Scivicque. Cherishing her memory are her children Ronald Francis Hamilton (Barbara Murphey Hamilton), Catherine Elizabeth Hamilton, and Michael Dennis Hamilton. Kitty was outspoken, a lover of animals, and used to enjoy watching Charles maintain their beautiful garden in New Orleans. She had fun completing crossword puzzles and relished being outside watching and conversing with her neighbors as they passed by. She was well loved and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and especially Ronald and Barbara Hamilton, their children and great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, January 8th from 9:00AM – 10:00AM, followed by a memorial service in Ida’s memory beginning at 10:00AM. She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony in Hope Mausoleum, New Orleans.
