Emily J. Vance

Emily Jane "Keller" Vance, 96, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Emily was born in Logansport, Indiana to Adalene and Harry Keller. Emily will be remembered for her love of family, friends, and her faith in God. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her kindness and compassion extended to all, and the many organizations she generously supported. She and “Jimmy” had a wonderful life together, she was the best mother, and she will be dearly missed. We were blessed to have her in our lives. Emily was predeceased by her beloved husband James Vance, her daughter Joan Stretch, and her sisters Elizabeth Bieker and Dolores Alberts. She is survived by daughters Jane Nickerson of Charlotte, NC, Patricia Petrossi (husband Robert) of Naples, FL and son James D. Vance (wife Charlene) of Mesa, AZ. She is also survived by a niece, nephew, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the charity of your choice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28277 on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, 11 am in their Day Chapel.
