Obituary of Glenda Ann Keenan
It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Glenda Ann Keenan, beloved mother, sister, Gigi, and friend, at her daughter’s home on September 19th, 2019. Glenda waged a brave battle against cancer until her very last moment. She was surrounded by her family and faithful dog Olive, as she passed peacefully. Glenda was born on March 22nd, 1950 in Lincolnton, NC. She was a great cook and an even better friend. Glenda never knew a stranger. She had an exceptional talent for making everyone she met feel important. She gave countless free haircuts to friends and neighbors, most often conducted in a kitchen chair on the sidewalk in Old Mission, MI, where she spent her summers. Glenda was the owner of Blue Sky Oil and Vinegar in Chapel Hill, NC, a store she loved dearly and where she got to meet new friends every day. She will be sorely missed by her customers and community. She was the best mom in the world. She was an even better Gigi. We will need your help reminding her beloved granddaughters, Hannah and Morgan, what an incredible woman she was. Her last smiles on this earth were for baby Morgan, who thought her Gigi was the most wonderful person to look at. Even a baby couldn’t help but smile looking into those beautiful brown eyes! In addition to countless friends and admirers, Glenda is survived by her daughters, Alison Keenan (Josh Smith) and Suzanne Keenan; her granddaughters, Morgan and Hannah Smith; and her brother, Ronald Lineberger. Celebrations of her life well lived will be held in Chapel Hill, NC in late October, and in Old Mission, MI next summer.
