Judith “Judy” Brainard Griffith June 23, 1936-June 5, 2019 Judith “Judy” Brainard Griffith , age 82, of Monroe passed away Wednesday morning, June 5, 2019, at Atrium Hospital in Charlotte. She was born June 23, 1936 in Upper Derby, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Richard Brown Brainard and Alice Greenwood Brainard. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date to honor her wishes. Judy is survived by her husband, Alan M. Griffith of Monroe, one son Donald C. Griffith (Brandon) of Monroe, one daughter Sarah G. Lee (Robert) of Monroe, two sisters Patricia “Patty” Miller (Bill) of Charlotte, Margaret (Peggy) Brainard of Greensboro, NC, and one brother Richard B. (Dick) Brainard Jr. (Ann) of Monroe. Three granddaughters, Elizabeth Griffith, Sydney Lee, Sierra Lee all of Monroe, three grandsons, Jared Lee, DC Griffith, Cade Griffith all of Monroe. Judy owned and operated an In-Home Daycare for more than 20 years. Judy loved helping raise children and absolutely adored her six grandchildren. Judy loved to craft and participated in many craft shows over the years. Judy was an amazingly strong and compassionate woman who loved everyone.
