Obituary of Butch Hurley
Frank Hurley, lovingly known as Butch, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on August 23, 2019 in South Chatham, Massachusetts. Butch was born on January 13, 1940 in Providence, Rhode Island to Francis Hurley Sr. and Jessie Peirce. He married Cindy Foster in 1963 and they raised three sons Gary, Keith and Kevin. He served in the US Air Force from 1958 to 1962. He was a tool and die maker at Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford, CT. During his earlier days he enjoyed coaching his children in baseball and ice hockey. He enjoyed playing golf, pickleball, badminton and tennis with his Chatham crew. He was a life-long Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, New York Giants fan although he regularly rooted against them in hopes it would make them win. Butch is survived by his wife Cindy of South Chatham, MA, his son Gary (Elizabeth) of Portland, CT, his son Keith (Doreen) of Coventry, CT, his son Kevin (Heather) of Venice, FL, His sister and brother-in-law Sue and George Myers of Venice, FL, his sister and brother-in-law Judy and Chuck Riemenschneider of Ft. Myers, FL, his sister-in-law Debbie Savago of Harwichport, MA and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dr. Alan and Lynne Foster of Ft. Myers, FL. He is survived by eight loving grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his twin sister Sandra Whistler. Butch will be greatly missed by his family and all his many friends. We sincerely appreciate the assistance provided by the Cape Cod Hospice Nursing staff and the Oncology Department at Cape Cod Hospital. A calling hour from 1-2pm will precede the memorial service scheduled at 2pm for September 14, 2019 at Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Rd., Chatham, MA. A grave site service will immediately follow at the South Chatham cemetery. A reception will follow the conclusion of the grave site service. Reverend Scott Kuenzel Elliott will officiate.
