Obituary of Kenneth Lee Cox
Kenneth Lee Cox passed away on June 10, 2019 in Chilliwack, British Columbia while on his morning walk. He was 69 years young. Ken was born on August 2, 1949, in Calgary Alberta to his parents, Cyril and Mary Cox. Ken married the love his life Maxine in 1970 and they had two children, Dennis and Kari. While living in Calgary, Alberta, Ken spent his early years as a painter. Eight years after his marriage to Maxine they moved to Chilliwack, where they farmed for the next 13 years and raised their family. After farming Ken went on to become an aircraft structural engineer working on and repairing helicopters and aircraft all over the world. Ken had an immense love for everything aviation. In 1990 Ken started building his RV6A, taking his time with friends and family building relationships and good conversation, it took seven years to build. His first flight was Christmas eve 1997. Shortly after his building experience Ken started his career in aviation through a friend who had a shared interests in flying radio controlled models. This friend happened to own Heli Pro International, saw Ken’s airplane and offered him a job. This was the start of a 20 plus year career. Ken developed many relationships in those years all over the world. Ken is survived by his wife Maxine and their son and daughter-in law, Dennis and Juila and their two daughters Taylor and Caisey; his daughter and son-in law Kari and Ryan and their children, Jordan, Mackenzie and Greyson. There will be a memorial held on Saturday June 15th, 2019 at 1:00 pm, at Sardis Community Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ken’s life.
