Obituary of Liwia Fechner
Liwia Fechner (nee Kriese) passed away peacefully with family by her side and went home to be with her Lord and saviour on March 4th, 2019. She will be sadly missed and forever lovingly remembered by countless friends and family. She is survived by her husband of 67 years Edmund Fechner, her daughter Rose Bilan, son in law Ruben, and grand daughter Sophia. Her son Sieg Fechner (wife Hilda), and grandchildren Ryan, Janine, Corina (Dan), and Arienne (Jeff). Liwia is also survived by five great grand children, with one on the way. Liwia was born in Poland on November 8th, 1931. She moved to Chilliwack, BC with her husband Edmund in the year 1952, after they wed in Germany. Liwia spent her life dedicated to her family, husband, and God. Throughout trials and tribulations, her faith in the Lord never faltered, and he was the centre point of all the blessings she appreciated in her life. Liwia was unconditionally gentle and loving to everyone she met, and leaves a legacy of hospitality, kindness, and unwavering faith behind, and to whomever met her. Liwia loved her family and friends, tending to her garden and animals, and always sharing a kind word of encouragement, positivity and compliments with everyone she encountered. Liwia loved to cook for others and had countless numbers of guests from all over the world in her home during her life; welcomed guests who always left with a stomach full of food, and a heart full of love. Liwia was an earthly angel that walked among us, and she is now in heaven with her mother whom she missed so much. Liwia was faithful, kind-hearted, and humble throughout her life. She loved everyone, and her presence will be greatly missed. She has been a true example of dedicated faith, grace and mercy. For 87 years the earth was blessed with Liwia’s kindness, and generosity of spirit. The world is a little darker without her here, and heaven is a little brighter with her there. We believe that Liwia is with her Lord, in a beautiful garden with the birds singing (her favourite), and all her loved ones. Until the day we meet again; She will forever be missed, and forever loved. “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”- Psalm 23:6. The Fechner/Bilan family would like to thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness during this time of mourning; it is truly appreciated and will not be forgotten.
