Patricia Ann Gill

GILL (Toop), Patricia Pat Gill passed away peacefully on May 30 at Royal Columbian Hospital, at the age of 78, surrounded by her family. Born to Edith and Elwood Toop on September 17, 1939, Pat grew up on the family farm on Yale Road West and attended Atchelitz Elementary and graduated from Chilliwack High School. She then attended St. Pauls Nursing Program and graduated as an RN in 1960. During this time, she met Richard and they married September 17, 1960. They moved onto a corner of the family farm, where they raised two sons, Vic and Dave. Over the next 40 years, Pat worked as the nurse in the office of Dr’s Young, Young, Hirst, Bright and Bull. Pat took great pride in her work, caring for her patients and all her friends and family, even long after her retirement. Pat loved to spend time with her family and friends, play cards, read books and write poetry, especially at one of her favorite places, Horse Lake. Pat and Richard were always in the stands cheering on their kids and friends at ballgames and their Grandson Landon’s hockey games. Pat always had a hug for everyone. Pat was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Richard and her brother, Vic Toop. She is lovingly remembered by sons, Vic (Malinda), Dave (Leah), grandson Landon (Amanda). Sisters, Donna Pedde, Louise (Wally) Mitchell, sister in law, Karen Toop and brother in law, Bill (Sandra) Gill. As well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. All are welcome to a Celebration of Life for Pat on Saturday, June 23 at 2pm at Evergreen Hall in Chilliwack.
