Frank Peter Ganucheau III

It is with great sadness that we announce that Frank Ganucheau passed away on Thursday, May 16 in Dallas, Texas. Frank fought a long and hard battle with both multiple myeloma and leukemia, showing incredible courage and maintaining a loving and positive attitude. The example he set both in his life and in his final days was a true testament to his unwavering belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. His reply when asked how he was — “Faith, not fear”. Frank was born on July 27, 1945 in Queens, New York to Frank P. Ganucheau II and Gloria Dickenson. He graduated from Southeastern Louisiana College in 1967. That year he met his future wife of 51 years, Elisabeth Palmer in Pennsylvania, and they wed in 1968. They began married life in San Antonio, Texas where Frank completed his Master's degree in Economics from St. Mary’s University. Many treasured family stories come from this time. Frank pursued a career in investments that would span his entire professional life. He began as a stockbroker at Dittmar & Company in San Antonio. Later he would work for First Pennsylvania Bank in Philadelphia and Republic Bank in Dallas as an Analyst. He completed his CFA (Charted Financial Analyst) and worked for Continental Bank of Fort Worth as Head of Investments for the Trust Department. In 1984 Frank co-authored a book called The Investor’s Equation: Creating Wealth Through Undervalued Stocks with William Bowen. This, along with his career achievements, paved the way for him to found GSB Investment Management in Fort Worth, TX in 1987. Frank enjoyed many lasting friendships over the years in his work to help clients achieve financial security. Frank's proudest achievement and joy was his family. He and Elisabeth raised their four children in Arlington, Texas where they had a very active and exciting life. Their home was a bustle of activity for many, many years and Frank was always there as the family patriarch, supporter, and cheerleader. He loved spending time with his kids and their friends who called him, "Mr. G". The times most remembered are camping, building tree forts, riding go carts, and doing fun projects. He cherished his wife and children and never missed an opportunity to tell them this. Later “Gdad” was loved by his grandchildren who enjoyed every opportunity to be with him and especially enjoyed hearing his stories. He was a master storyteller and entertainer. With others, Frank had an approachable and engaging personality. He found the positive in everyone he met and encouraged them. Above all, Frank was a very special person who was never too busy for his family, friends, loved ones, and even strangers. He was always there to listen. He loved on everyone he came across, making their lives better for having known him. Frank's passing is a profound loss for everyone who knew him, especially his devoted family. Frank is survived by his mother Gloria Ganucheau of Grapevine; his wife Elisabeth Ganucheau of Colleyville; children Peter Ganucheau and wife Laurie of Colleyville, Susan G. Wells of Colleyville, David Ganucheau of Dallas, and Matthew Ganucheau and wife Summer of New York; and ten grandchildren Luke, Ben, Grace, Mark, & John Ganucheau, Megan Wells, Nathan, Zachary & Natalie Ganucheau, and Barrett Ganucheau. Frank is also survived by his two brothers; Val Ganucheau of Worthington, Ohio and Edmond Ganucheau of Hamden, Connecticut. The visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The Memorial Service will be held at Compass Christian Church Colleyville, 2600 Hall-Johnson Rd., Colleyville on Friday, May 24 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Living Water International at water.cc, or to Food for the Hungry at fh.org.
