Obituary of Rickey Johnston
Rickey Johnston A Celebration of Life Service for Rickey Johnston 62, are set for 3:00 PM Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Smith officiating and Tommy Dean doing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Valley of the Dogwood Cemetery. A receiving of family and friends for Rickey will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 12:00 PM to 2:50 PM. Rickey died August 31, 2019 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born November 28, 1956 in Corinth, MS. to the late Edwin and Dora (Swindle) Johnston. He was a member of First Baptist Church. A 1974 graduate of Biggersville High School, where he was an All-Star basketball player, he served in the US Army as a combat engineer. He was retired from World Color after 28 years, before his illness. He was an avid golfer and an avid Miss State fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sam Edward Johnston; paternal grandparents, Taylor and Winnie Johnston; maternal grandparents, Leo and Lurlie Swindle; mother-in-law, Mary Null. He is survived by his wife, Pam Null Johnston; son, Jayson Johnston (Cindy); daughter, Whitney Key (Jake); brother, William David Johnston; grandchildren, Taylor Johnston, Tyler Johnston, Peyton Key, T J Key, Hunter Shaw, Dyllan Shaw (Mackenzie); father-in-law, Hershell Null; special friends, Mike Crumby, Steve and Kim Talley, George Haynie and Jeannie Key; host of other family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men’s II Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church and the 1974 Class of Biggersville High School.
