IN THE CARE OF
Piercy's-Mt. Washington Funeral Home
It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye and good journey to a great man Alvin Olesen.
Al was born in Chauvin, Alberta where he was raised on the family farm. He loved curling, dogs, nature, and had a strong sense of civic duty. Alvin joined the RCAF in 1962 (was given the alias "Ole") and proudly served his country for 20 years before transferring to the calibration center at CFB Esquimalt, where he remained until his retirement in 1995. in 1996, Al and Maureen moved back to the Comox Valley that they loved and built their new home together.
Al is predeceased by his parents Peter and Marjorie Olesen, sister Jean, and brother Gordon. He is survived by his wife Maureen, their children Tatijana (Andy) Yung and Bradley (Michelle) Olesen, and sister Karen. Many will miss Al and his playful nature could always bring a smile to anyone who knew him.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the extraordinary staff at the Glacier View Lodge that became a part of our family.
Please join in celebrating Al's life at his family home on the 20th of July, 2:00pm - 4:00pm. RSVP by contacting the Olesen family.
Fond memories and stories may be shared at www.PiercysMtWashingtonFuneral.com for Al's family.
