Susie Marie Goodwin

Susie Marie (Driver) Goodwin was born January 21, 1922 and passed away September 5, 2019 at the age of 97. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Doyle Clark Goodwin, in 2012. Also preceding her was her Mother, Ruth Holland Drive, brothers Melvin and Leldon Driver, Grandmother Bertha Hallman Driver, Niece Debra Muse and Nephews James Richard Driver and Gene Driver. She is survived by daughter Janice Marie (Goodwin) Cross and husband Dwight of Hartselle, Alabama; sons Jeffery Doyle Goodwin of Winchester, Tennessee and Gregory Clark Goodwin of Birmingham and sister, Wauhneta Driver Muse of Tampa, Florida. Also surviving her are two Grandchildren, Anna Marie Goodwin of Winchester, Tennessee and Matthew Lee Cross of Hartselle along with two nieces and one nephew. Susie was an active member of First Baptist Church of Cullman until her health prevented her attendance and service. She was a long-time member of the Chancel Choir, serving as Secretary for many years. She was very active in the Women’s Missionary Union and served as a Children’s Choir assistant. She also served alongside her husband in the Alabama Rural Letter Carriers Association where they held many offices during their over 50 years of membership. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 8, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home with Funeral Services to be held in the Chapel on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery.
