Ellen Marjorie Latter

Age 90, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 20, 2019 in the Dartmouth General Hospital. She was a daughter of the late William and Mildred (Walker) Philpitt. Survived by children, Jimmy (Bev), Barb Merlin (Paul) and Denise Jones; daughter-in-law, Marilyn; grandchildren, Dwight (Angie), Dwayne (Eileen), Donald (Tracy), Reginald Jr. (Rhonda), Lorraine (Mark), Al (Jody), Stephen (Amy), Vanessa (George); ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Millie Kuhn (Bill), Harry Philpitt (Linda), Billy Philpitt; sister-in-law, Marie Philpitt; aunt, Bertha Philpitt; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Dale Conrad, Karen and Terry Boudreau, Ruth, all the staff at Northwood Homecare, especially Denise Keddy. Predeceased by husband of 46 years, Lloyd Latter; son, Reginald Sr.; sons-in-law, Frederick Merlin, Dan Jones; brothers, Norman Philpitt (Lois), Carmen Philpitt; sister-in-law, Anna Philpitt; one grandchild and one great-grandchild. She was a leader in Junior, Girls and Womens Auxiliary, was in the church choir, a longtime member of TOPS and sat on the board for the housing authority. She was a volunteer and member at the Dartmouth Seniors Service Centre for almost 40 years and was recently presented with an award. She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending dances at the Legion, bingo, and shopping. She left a lasting impression wherever she went and will truly be missed by all. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4pm & 6-8pm in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, Dartmouth. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 2pm in St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Eastern Passage. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Dartmouth Seniors Service Centre, St. Peter’s Anglican Church or Dartmouth General Hospital.
