SILVER, Malcolm Layton, 79, of Dartmouth, passed away on March 10, 2019 in the Dartmouth General Hospital. The son of the late Floyd and Mary (Layton) Silver, Malcolm was born and raised in Goldboro. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Hazel (Fraser), Dartmouth; daughter, Carolyn (Michael) Silver, Hubley; son, Gary (Tonya) Silver, Kamloops, BC; brother, Leonard (Judy) Silver, Ottawa, ON; granddaughters, Emma and Isabel Silver, Kamloops, BC along with several nieces and nephews. Malcolm is predeceased by sisters, Isabelle Silver and Judy Brunet and brother-in-law, Marc Brunet. At age 17 Malcom started working for the Royal Bank and then enjoyed a long career with Sunlife in the Group Benefits Department. He enjoyed all sports, was a big fan of the Mooseheads, an avid bowler, enjoyed many years playing golf at Brightwood Golf Club. He was very interested in genealogy and spent a lot of happy time researching his family tree. No flowers by request, donations may be made to Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation or charity of your choice. A gathering of friends and family will take place in the Common Room at Woodbury III, 194 Basswood Run, Dartmouth, NS from 2-4 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2019.
