Obituary of Mark Vincent Grace
GRACE, Mark Vincent - On December 22, 2018, at the age of 60, Mark Grace of Dartmouth, unexpectedly passed away at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born January 28, 1958, in White Horse, Yukon, he was a son of Pauline (Ingram) and the late Robert Grace. Mark is survived by the love of his life, his wife Micheline Trudeau; his children, whom he loved deeply; Curtis (Kristine Elliot-Grace), and Sarah (Jeremy Loney); his two grandchildren Finn and Wren, who he cherished every moment with. They both wanted their Granddad to know they love him very much. Mark is also survived by his mother Pauline (Ingram) and oldest brother Robert (Serena Innes), along with many nieces and nephews. Mark is predeceased by his younger brother Christopher. Not only were Robert, Mark, and Christopher brothers, they were also the best of friends. Mark attended Prince Andrew High School and spent 30 years working as a Federal Government employee. He recently retired in January 2018 and enjoyed every moment of his retirement. Mark was a true gentleman, an avid reader, and a natural athlete, with a witty sense of humor. Passionate about sports, he enjoyed his time spent playing on a number of local teams including basketball, rugby, and baseball. He also enjoyed tennis and most recently pickleball with friends. His competitive nature shone through whether he was playing sports, family washer toss tournaments, or board games at home. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Paul Aalders and Dr. Josh Bowdridge who were pivotal in caring for Mark and allowing him a few more moments with his wife Micheline. We would also like to thank the staff and those who assisted at the Shearwater Sports Center, the Paramedics that attended to Mark, and the Dartmouth General Emergency Doctors and Nurses. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life in honor of Mark, on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 6:00 pm at the Mic Mac Canoe Club. Please join us in celebrating with music, food, drinks, memories and laughter; this is exactly how Mark wanted to be remembered. Those who are unable to attend the party are welcome to visit with the family prior, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Mic Mac Canoe Club. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Mark may be made to KidSport Nova Scotia to help provide children with the gift of sport. Online condolences may be sent to: www.mattatallfuneralhome.com
