Sylvia Mary Ostrynski

OSTRYNSKI, Sylvia – She lived, she loved, she laughed, and she left. With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dear mother, Sylvia Ostrynski, 95, on June 25, 2019. Born on January 11, 1924 to Albert and Matilda Arsenault in Blue Bell, N.B., she was part of a close, fun loving family of 11 children. She moved to Dartmouth during the war, and met and married Antoni Ostrynski in 1945. Together they raised five girls, Ingrid (d. 1996), Gail, Darlene, Sheri and Vienna, in the north end of Dartmouth where she lived in her home until the end. Granddaughters; Stacey (d. 2015), Kendra, Lani; grandson; Anthony and great-grandsons; Isaac, Owen, Lincoln, Jasper, Damian, Kyle and Nolan brought great pride and joy into her life in her later years. Mom loved to sew knit and garden, and was happiest with a paintbrush in her hand. She always loved a good time, loved music, loved to dance, and enjoyed a rum and coke well into her 80s. Her kindness, generosity and beautiful smile will be greatly missed by all her knew her. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth. A private burial will take place at a later date.
