Harvey Eugene Dale

Harvey Eugene Dale, 94, of Davenport, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019, at Good Samaritan in Davenport. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 12:00 PM at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory in Davenport. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest in the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Harvey was born January 26, 1925 in Jonesboro, Illinois, son of Lee Everett and Naomi Olive (Pyles) Dale. He was united in marriage to Claudine Newman on January 20, 1945 in Hot Springs Arkansas. Shortly after marrying they moved to East Moline, Illinois. He was employed by John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, Illinois from February 27, 1951 until he retired on March 1, 1981, with 30 years of service. Harvey was employed as a certified welder and continued to be a member of U.A.W. Local 865 until his death. Those left to honor his memory include his sons: Jim (Joy) Dale, Hudson, IA; David Dale, Davenport; his five grandchildren; Julie (Jeff) Reinitz, Waterloo, IA; John (Lisa) Konrad, Davenport; Joshua (Sara) Dale, Hudson, IA; Jeremi Dale, Hudson, IA; Christin Dale, Berkeley, CA; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudine; a daughter, Sherrill Konrad; his parents, Lee and Naomi Dale; his brothers, Everett, Marion, and Roscoe Dale; a sister, Mattie E. Coakley. Over the years, Harvey enjoyed working with wood, teaching Sunday School, and discussing current events. He will always be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit, his great love for his family, and ending every visit with a hug and the words, “Love you”!
