Obituary of Debra Blinn
Cohoon-Blinn, Debra Helen, 63, passed away in Digby General Hospital on March 13, 2019, with her family by her side. Born in Ashmore, she was the 9th child of the late Burton Cohoon and Vivian (Thibodeau) Cohoon-Lake. Debra is survived by her husband and best friend, for 42 years, Emile, daughter, Michelle Thibodeau (Craig Thibault) Doucetteville, Joseph (Lee Ann) Digby, Johnathan (Ashley Roberts) Tumbler Ridge BC, stepson Chris Blinn and his two sons, Saint John NB; grandchildren, Aleah Thibodeau, Meah Thibodeau, Ava Thibault and Remington Thibault all of Doucetteville, Addison Blinn Digby, Brook Sparks Digby. Surviving siblings, Phyllis (Bev) Handspiker, Digby; Sharon LeBlanc Yarmouth, Darlene (Jim) Madore Digby, Wlliam (Billy) Cohoon, Whitehorse ; Donna Cohoon Yarmouth. Also survived by step-father Anselm LeBlanc (Papa Aus) Weymouth, whom she had chosen as her father, he had raised her from the age of 3 and she always considered him the compass that pointed to home. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Lee, Larry, Arnold and Tommy , brothers in law, Roy Harnish, Achille LeBlanc and Vincent LeBlanc. Debra attended the Weymouth Consolidates High School. In her early years she worked for Weymouth Motors as one of the first Irving girls. Debra became a born again Christian at the age of 28 and had strong passion for the things of God and her most important goal in life was to have raised her family to know the God who greeted them. They ran Journey’s Lake Campground in Ohio for 5 seasons before becoming owner/operator of Cliff Haven Manor, a safe place for seniors' room and board, Digby, from 1991-2016. During those years, Debra felt it was her calling to care for and give love and support to her many clients. In 2011 Debra became an ordained minister through The Stephen Wade Evangelistic Association Inc. and was instrumental in creating The Shepherd Lamb’s Ministry with her husband. She was also involved in the pioneer work in Faith Community Church of God, Digby. Her passion was sharing God’s plan of salvation and winning souls for Christ. Funeral to be announced at a later date. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
