Frances Alice Hersey

Hersey, Frances Alice - Age 96 of Tideview Terrace formally of Culloden, Digby Co. passed away November 25, 2018. Born in West Dalhousie, she was a daughter of the late Sarah (Marshall) and Harris Boylan. She was a homemaker and an awesome mother of four. She is survived by daughters, Marion (Murray) Handspiker, (Digby); Darlene (Lester) Hersey, (Mount Pleasant); Susan (Jan) Hersey, (Kingston); son, Roy (Carol) Hersey, (Digby); nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; special nephew Phillip “Tim” Boylan, and several nieces and nephews. Mom loved playing 45s, Skip-Bo and enjoyed bowling, listening to old time country music and was known as “Grandma Dynamite” on the CB radio. She enjoyed family coming to visit and afternoon tea parties with Mrs. Walker, Mrs. Sipes and special friend Joan. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Joe Hersey, twin sister, Doris Jane Boylan (in infancy), brothers, Burton and Phillip, daughter-in-law Evelyn Hersey and son-in-law Ewart Handspiker. Visitation will be 7-9pm on Wednesday November 28 at Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch St. Digby (245-2525) also where the funeral service will take place at 2pm, Thursday November 29. Interment in Union Cemetery, Culloden. The family would like to thank Dr. Black and the staff of both the Villa Acadienne and Prim House, Tideview Terrance for their excellent care.
