Jennie P. Ritcey

“Grammie Digby” (Jennie) Pauline Ritcey age 97 of Digby, formerly of Riverport, passed away on April 24, 2019 at Tideview Terrace. Born in Lockport, she was a daughter of the late Calvin and Frances (Chymist) Ward. Jennie is survived by her daughter, Frances (Ralph) Clayton; granddaughters, Jackie (Patrick) Longmire; Holly (Paul) Sanford; great-grandchildren, Christie (Jesse) Longmire, Drew (Jessica) Graham, Abbey Sanford, Greg Sanford; great-great-grandchildren Owen and Brayden Longmire. Besides her parents she is predeceased by husband Captain Clement Ritcey; sisters, Rita, Anna and Edith; brother Murray. “Grammie Digby” as she was known by most, enjoyed reading, needlepoint and knitting but she especially loved going out to eat with her friends and family. She was a member of Riverview Rebekah Lodge No. 56 where she recevied her 40 year pin. Cremation has taken place under the care of Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. Funeral service will be held 2pm May 11, 2019 from the Grace United Church, Digby Rev Alex Constable presiding with reception to follow.
