Raymond Ambers Shelton

Raymond Ambers Shelton, 97, of Chattanooga passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2019. He was a member of Ridgeline Church of God. Raymond served with the Army 236th Engineers Combat Battalion where he helped construct the road thru Burma, India. He retired from Faerber Blowpipe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Mamie Shelton, sisters Bondell Honey, Eva Pruett, Velma Rogers, and brother Earl Shelton. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Lyda Shelton, daughters Patricia (Bill) Faulkner, Janice (Rick) Bowen, granddaughters Michelle Cross, Lindsay Hindman and Amber Naus, great-granddaughters Hannah Gentry and Zooey Naus, several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Connie Barrett, Avalon Hospice, Martin Boyd Christian Home, and Hickory Valley Retirement Center. Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Friday, June 7, 2019 at Ridgeline Church of God with the Rev. Danny Pinter officiating. Interment will follow the services with Military Honors at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm Friday at the church.
