Colleen Wood

It is with sad hearts that the family announces the passing of a very special Mom, Mother-in-law, Grandma, Great Grandma and friend to so many. Mom passed on May 2nd with family by her side. Colleen leaves to mourn, sons Craig (Tanya) & Paul, daughter Jayanne (Bayne) as well as five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Colleen was predeceased by her loving husband Lionel (April 2, 2010), her mother Peggy Warner (April 12, 1983), her father Barney Warner (May 16, 1980) her sister Shauna and brother Bob. Mom was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and later met her dear Lionel at Grand Beach, Manitoba. They were married June 1952 and thereafter lived in Edmonton and raised three children. Mom was fond of sports, reading, music, art, loved to curl and above all golfing with Dad...it was common to wave at them on a Friday night as they passed the house on the 12th hole of the Derrick. Mom lived four years in long term care, and the family wishes to thank those from Extendicare Eaux Claire in Edmonton for their kindness, caring and companionship throughout those years. With heavy hearts, we release our beloved Mother from this world into the universe from which we came and from which we all must return. We’ll see you soon mom...when we get home. Love Craig, Paul & Jayanne. Respecting Mom’s wishes, cremation will take place, and then a Private gathering will be held June 10th at the Derrick Club from 2-4pm to honour her memory.
