Elmer Frank Johnson

The sun rose when Elmer Frank Johnson was born on Nov. 29, 1927 and it set on March 4, 2019 with his passing at the age of 91 in Edmonton, Alberta. Many people cared for and loved him throughout his life enriched by travel, love of outdoor activities, and jamming on his 12-string guitar playing old time country rifts with music-loving buddies. Elmer was a ray of sunshine in the lives of his family and friends with his blue eyes, adorable smile, steadfast and patient heart. Most of all, he loved to dance a good two-step or lively waltz and he is now waltzing in heaven. He will always be lovingly remembered. Elmer is survived by his children Brian, Valerie (Terry), Elysia, Teressa (Floyd), his grandchildren Julian and Hannah, one brother Eric (Evelyn) and nephew Jim (Debby). Elmer requested no formal service. A Celebration of His Life will take place at a later date. Online photos, memories and condolences can be shared with the family at Hainstock’s Funeral Home and make arrangements for notification of the date of the future life celebration. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caring staff of The Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre and Our Parent’s Home.
