Laureen Marie Shantz

Laureen Marie Shantz (nee: Blair), age 61, passed away at home on May 31, 2019 with her best friend and loving husband at her side. She was preceded in death by her father James Blair. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of over 37 years Wayne A Shantz; children Melissa (Greg) Emmons and Randolph Shantz; grandchildren Georgia and Graham Emmons; her mother Lillian Blair; and sisters Belinda (Dan) Stucky, Denise (Ron) Wehner, Lisa (Joe) Cifani, and Yvette Blair; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Laureen was a graduate of the University of Akron and served as a Medical Technologist, later she worked beside her husband and son at Shantz Cartage Inc. Her main role in life was caring for her husband and children. She enjoyed going to the beach, golfing, bicycling, traveling, entertaining, and spending time with her family and especially the grandchildren. Laureen was a hard-worker and strong-willed and that part of her fought cancer for over 9 years to be there for her family that she loved dearly. Family will receive friends on Friday, June 7 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Rose Hill Funeral Home 3653 W Market St Akron, OH where the Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 8 at 10:00 AM.
