Fred Robert Davis Jr.

Fred Robert Davis, Jr., 81, of Smithton, Illinois, born August 13, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away, Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at home surrounded by family. Fred was heavily involved in his community and served on the St. Clair County Board and was a Precinct Committeemen. He loved music and was a member of the Gateway Harmonica Club. He enjoyed playing golf and traveling. He was a loving family man, who will truly be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred R. and Katherine, nee Goodwin, Davis, Sr. and a sister, Virginia Davis. Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Winnie Davis, nee VanHuss; his children, Fred R. Davis, III, Paul Davis, Pamela Richman, Elizabeth Robinson, and Kristi (Robert) Cates; his grandchildren, Adam (Alicia), Summer, Christopher (Lindsey), Lindsay (Bret), Tyler (Connie), Zachary, Cody, Joshua, Taylor, and Paige; his 13 great grandchildren; and a sister, Delores Rains; and many other relatives and friends.
