Obituary of Mrs. Donna Jean Plocinski
Donna Jean Plocinski (Surges), 64 of Glendale Heights IL, passed away on August 18th, 2019 following a brief illness. Donna was born August 2nd, 1955 in Georgia to Frances and William Surges. She was welcomed home by her big sisters Dianne and Linda. The Surges family shared a special bond and remained very close. She grew up in Schiller Park, IL with her big, close knit family. In 1974 Donna married Timothy Francis Plocinski. This year they celebrated their 45th anniversary. Donna was a loving wife and mother. Donna held many jobs throughout the years but her number one job was always MOM. She was a very compassionate person and was like a mom to so many people who knew her - our spouses, our friends, our friend’s friends, co-workers, or anyone else who needed her kindness without judgement. She is mourned all over the world today. Condolences and prayers have come from Scotland, England, Wales, Australia, New Zealand, China, Canada and Mexico; as those whose lives she touched are remembering her. Anyone who knew Donna, knew 3 things: how much she loved cooking, family, and her animals. If there was a stray animal in need, it found Donna. They all came to her house. No matter if they were deaf, diabetic, sick, skinny, or abandoned - Donna took them all in and took care of them. She had the biggest heart and made sure they had good lives. Donna is survived by her husband Timothy F. Plocinski, and her five children; Kimberly F. Haley (Chad), Timothy E. Plocinski (Meghan), Edward W. Plocinski (Rebecca), Mary Rose Plocinski (William), Daniel T. Plocinski, and her eleven grandchildren: Chad, Frances, Veronica, Mark and Donna Haley; Emma, Erin, and Evette Plocinski; Eddie, Samantha and Waylon Plocinski. She is also survived by her loving sister Mary Jo Imperato (Carl), her loving brother William Surges (Diana), her many nieces and nephews; and her precious pets: Navin R. Johnson, Middles, and Lola. Donna was preceded in death by her beloved sisters Dianne M. Surges and Linda C. Psaras; her parents Frances and William Surges as well as a menagerie of various pets: Luno, Deke, Barney, Buddy, Pup-Pup, Bailey, Bad-eyes, Baby brother, Fuzzy and Littles, Munka, Shiny, Reni, Elvis, Big Boy, Tony, Cleo, Sassy, Bunna Bunna, Floyd, and One Ring. Donna was recently preceded in death by her daughter in law and dear friend Rebecca Liss. Services will be held from 1pm – 3pm on Wednesday, August 28th at Cypress Funeral Home in Glendale Heights.
