Gwen F. Kennedy

Gwendoline F. Kennedy, 91, of Goodlettsville, TN passed away on October 3rd, 2019 in Gallatin, TN. Visitation will be 10:00 -12:00 Monday October 7th at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1150 Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN. Funeral services will be held 12:00 Monday October 7th at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Gwen was born in Mississippi to Carlton and Aliene French on February 25th, 1928. She graduated from high school and married Thomas Avent in 1947. After his death in 1958 she went back to school and became a licensed cosmetologist. In the early 1960’s, she and her three children moved to the Nashville area. Gwen later met and married Ken Kennedy in the early 1970’s. Over the course of their 30 plus years of marriage they created a life around Church, Family, Friends and their home in Goodlettsville. Gwen enjoyed the last four years as a resident at Morningside of Gallatin and often said, “I’ve have had a good life”. Gwen is preceded in death by Husbands Thomas W. Avent 1958 and Hubert C. (Ken) Kennedy 2004. She was also preceded in death by 5 siblings. Gwen is survived by her Children: Tom Avent, Sherry Hunter and Ann Young. Grandchildren: Kevin, Brian, Dawn, Stacy, Scott, Jackie, Kelly and Aaron. Eight Great Grandchildren and Six Great-Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by Brothers: Dennis and Robert and Sisters: Sharon and Sandra. The family of Gwen Kennedy wishes to extend our sincere thanks Morningside of Gallatin and Caris Hospice.
