Myrtle Lucy Eddy

Myrtle was always a caring person and willing to share her talents with others. Always quick to learn and a life of devotion to her family. Born to James Kenneth Kemp and Lola Ada Kemp in Taft, Florida, in November of 1926, she grew up in hard times in a family of 10 children. A Christian way of life was instilled at an early age. School and church were the center of activities and she fondly referred to those days with joy. She married Walfred Norman Lundquist in January of 1943 and was moved to the Lundquist Family in her new home in Orlando. Was war time and she was a military bride, "Sweet Sixteen". Time moved on and the babies started to arrive, the soldiers came home and homesteading began. Four children. Fred started in the paint and body business, and some of the kids started school. Myrtle got involved with home room help and ended up President of the PTA of Union Park Elementary. She and Fred shared a love for growing plants and flowers and started a nursery in Union Park, Lundquist Variety Gardens. She expanded from nursery into floral work and was the busiest lady in town making floral arrangements for all occasions. Her personality plus only enhanced her magnificent talent with flowers. She moved from Variety Gardens to manage The Orchid Center for Martin Anderson. She continued a career in the flower business through retirement. After Fred went to heaven in 1992, she continued her work with silk flowers. After Fred passed on, she met Charles W. Eddy and they married starting a new life together. Daddy Chuck did not realize he was also getting a family of four children fully grown with their siblings, in addition to a good wife. They enjoyed travel and big family gatherings. Myrtle was a good cook and they shred their home life with many friends and family with Kissimmee, Florida. When Chuck went to the Lord, her kids insisted she move back to Orlando, and there were festive gatherings at the house, many of us enjoyed, mostly family and there she maintained residency until her demise. She is survived by four children, six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren: and her sister, Alice Shipp. She had a loving heart. I saw her take groceries off her shelf and give to a person in need. Her outlook was always to give, never holding back for tomorrow, and her oil jar was always full. Of course, she was a "Taftonian" from birth and trusted the Lord would take care of her. She loved her four children and promoted all of us in every way. She has always been the most wonderful mother anyone could dream to share in their earthly life and will be waiting to meet us when we pass to the Heavenly realm.
