Mr. Raymond Giles Kerkhoff of Winter Garden , born on May 5th 1934 in Convington, Kentucky passed away at age 85 on October 4th, 2019.
Raymond was the loving husband of the late Roberta Hofstetter Kerkhoff. He was preceded in death by his parents Ada and Joseph, bothers, Robert, Edward, Donald, sister, Lorraine, and great-grandchild, Angel Elizabeth Schultz. Raymond is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Sabates (Jose), Laura Lang (Steve), and Debra Reason-Kerkhoff (Tracy); sisters, Rosemary Hoffman, Joanne Kerkhoff Schunder, and Sue Hinkel; grandchildren, Lauren Schultz (Craig), Stephanie Kosmicki (Kyle), Elisabeth Duarte (Fernando), Shawn Lang (Jazmine), and Garett Reason-Kerkhoff; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Schultz, Ella Kosmicki, Owen Kosmicki, Caleb Schultz, Mikayla Kleinfelt, Hunter Kleinfelt, Colette Duarte, Connor Duarte, Luke Kosmicki, Austin Bailey, Luke Bailey, and MacKenzie Rae Schultz. Friends and family can pay their respects at the wake on Monday October 7th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Florida, 34734. A funeral service will take place, officiated by Father Benjamin, on Tuesday October 8th from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5125 S Apopka Vineland Rd, Orlando, Florida, 32819. A celebration of life will follow from 10:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
Raymond loved his wife, family and church above all. He was devoted to his wife of almost 64 years, his three daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a gentle man and he enjoyed playing golf, bowling and truely loved being on the water. He traveled extensively with his wife all over the world. He was a highly accomplished engineer and began his career in Huntsville Alabama designing the first satellite with Wernher von Braun. His career took him to Orlando Florida where he was part of the opening personnel to open Martin Marietta. He retired after 47 years of working on numerous defense projects. He was a founding member of St. Andrews Catholic Church upon moving to Orlando in 1959.
