Adolph James Forgeron “Ken” age 94 of Halifax passed away at home April 11, 2019 where he lived with his loving wife Rosie (nee Babin) of 67 years. Ken met the love of his life Rosie growing up in West Arichat Cape Breton. Prior to marrying Rosie in 1951 he served in the Canadian Air Force during WWII and graduated from StFX University with a BA and B.Ed. Ken and Rosie moved to Halifax in 1955 where they had many friends and family. Ken was a gifted and inspiring teacher to countless numbers of students whose lives he influenced through his devotion to educating youth as a teacher, guidance counselor, administrator, and involvement in school extracurricular activities. He spent most of his teaching career at St. Agnes Junior High School, Halifax. He was a member of Saint Benedict’s parish, a keen golfer, card player, and square dancer who always had a smile and joke. He was a devoted father and grandfather who put his family first. Ken was preceded in death by his 7 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife and children Petronille “Punch” (Paul) LeMoine; Judy (Robert) Power; Derrick (Denise) Forgeron; Paula Forgeron and her husband Ian Galloway; grandchildren Renee Tourigny; Michael Power; Ted (Clare) Power; Andrew LeMoine; Brooke Forgeron; Jacques Forgeron; and 7 great grand children. He also leaves behind many dear nieces and nephews. A special thank you to his nieces Gail Samson and Myrtle Levesque. The family wants to thank the QEII palliative care services, especially Devon Hennigar RN, the VON, and Northwood Homecare. His ever-present quiet strength will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers donations to the palliative care services at the QEII would be appreciated. Visitation Sunday April 14, from 5 – 8pm at JA Snow Funeral Home, Halifax. Funeral Mass to be held Monday April 15, 10:30am at St Benedict Church, Halifax.
