BURKE, BEVERLY “BEV” ANN It is with broken heart that we announce the passing of our sister Beverly “Bev” Ann Burke on March 11, 2019. Born in Halifax, she was the eldest daughter of Ralph and Ellen (Proctor) Burke. Bev leaves behind her three sisters, Trish Burke-Dodds (Bruce), Sandi Nash, and Susan Butler (Michael). She will be lovingly remembered by her nephews, niece, great nephews, great niece, many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and brother-in-law, Gary Nash. Bev was the kindest of souls, a friend to all who met her and brightened the lives of so many people. She started her career as a childcare assistant and later worked for Prescott Group as a silk screener. Upon her retirement, she volunteered with Feed Nova Scotia. Bev was involved with Special Olympics Nova Scotia, loved to bowl, and was a member of Saint Benedict's Parish. In her younger years she enjoyed spending summers in East Dover at the cottage. Christmas was her favourite time of year and she loved to shop and buy heartfelt gifts for family. Thank you to the angels of 5A Victoria General for the care and compassion shown to our sister during her journey home. Thank you to her RRSS caregivers and community. A very special thank you to Stacey Strickland “Love You to Pieces”. Visitation Thursday, March 14, from 6 – 8 pm with a Celebration of Life Service Friday, March 15, at 10:00 am, both at JA Snow Funeral Home, Halifax. Donations may be made to Feed Nova Scotia or the RRSS “Wish I Could Fund”.
