Douglas Edward George Sherman

Age 83 of Halifax, passed away June 17, 2019 in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Norman Leonard Sherman and Jessie Ross Sherman (Baird). In his early years, he worked for Dominion Steel & Coal in Halifax, but the majority of his life was spent caring for his mother until her passing, and then his sister Dorothy until his sudden passing. He was a member of St. Matthias Church. "Uncle Doug" as he was known was always interested in what was going on in your life or your children's life, it was never about him. Douglas is survived by his sisters, Jessie Dimock (William), New Glasgow; Dorothy Sherman, Halifax; and Julie Fass, British Columbia; and his many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who he cared for greatly. Predeceased by Ian Sherman, (Wanetta) (Dartmouth); Norma Peters (Vernon) (Ottawa); Clifford Sherman (Hilda) (Halifax); and Jean Garland (Ennis) (Ottawa). A memorial service will be held in J.A. Snow Funeral Home on Thursday, July 11th at 11 a.m. with Rev. Elliot Siteman officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.
