It is with extreme sadness that we are announcing Jake passed away suddenly on May 31, 2019 at the age of 33.

He is survived by his mother Debbie, sister Katie (Craig), paternal grandmother Betty, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and their extended families. He was predeceased by his father Jerry, grandparents Gerald, Bernice (Ernie) and Jack. Jake was kindhearted, funny and devoted to his family and friends, from Fairview and beyond.

He had a love for football “Go Raiders” and had played for the Halifax West Warriors, winning the Provincial Football Championship in grade 12. He was so proud. He worked with heavy equipment in Alberta for several years after finishing high school. He had a huge love and bond with his dogs Ozzie and Ruby, who were always by his side.

We are so devastated and heartbroken, more than words can say. Rest in peace Jake, until we are together again.

Visitation will take place on Friday June 7, 2019 from 6-9pm and funeral service will take place on Saturday June 8, 2019 at 10:00am both to take place in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax.

I went to high school with Jake. Jake was always kind and funny—that is how I remember him. A nice guy who was so easy to be around. So sorry to hear of his passing. Sending love and a prayer to his family.

I always admired your ability to clearly analyze situations and produce sound advice. If people knew it or not, the advice you provided over the years has helped shaped a lot of direction in people's lives. Thank you for showing me new perspectives.

I have told you, and our friends multiple times that the skill you hold to make me laugh is something no one has matched. Man, your sense of humor is beyond perfect. You hold the top spot for the amount of times my sides have been split in uncontrollable laughter. When we saw eachother, I would always bait you on topics that would guarantee I would be roaring and crying.

Wish I checked in a bit more in the last few months. Love you Jake !

Jacob my man. My special Nephew. I can't believe you are gone. I watched you grow up. We were close over the years. I enjoyed the time we lived together when u came back from Edmonton. We had a lot of laughs. You didn't mind dropping me off and picking me up at the hockey games. That is the kind of guy you were.

You would do anything for anyone. You are such a loyal guy to your friends and family. Maybe u didn't realize how special you were to your family and friends. I wish I would have told you this. I recently told you I loved you and you said "love you too". I am glad we had those words.

I will miss your texts, phone calls, the funny things u would send me, and visits to my place to watch football or a movie. You are in a better place now buddy. I will miss you every day. Lots of love Jacob.

Jake man, you are such a special guy. You were such a loving person, You had such a huge heart and you really cared about everyone. My favourite thing about you was how quick witted you were. Man you were sharp. You always had a great opinion and perspective on things. We had some great talks about life man. We really connected and understood each other. I wish I stayed in touch a bit more after high school, but even if we didn’t talk for 5 years, we could always just start off from where we left off and there were never any hard feelings... I loved that about you. Our championship season was something out of a movie. You always believed we were going to win. Man you believed in me so much and that’s so precious to me. You always gave me words of encouragement and spoke to me like a loving parent would. You deserve the best man. God will take care of you now and I will see you someday on the brighter side. I’ll always care about you. Take Care, Jake. Love #20
