Parker, James Vincent 88 The family of the late James Vincent Parker sadly announces his passing. He went peacefully surrounded by his family on June 27, 2018, at the QEII Halifax Infirmary site. James was born in Canso, Nova Scotia, son of the late basil Steven Parker and the late Margaret Fitzgerald Parker. He came to Halifax at a young age, joining the Halifax Fire Department, where he served faithfully for 25 years, from which he retired. One of his passions was cooking for his family and friends. For the last 31 years, his favourite place to be was camping at Renfrew Campground (Green Valley) with his family and friends. James made many great friends here, especially on Wimpy Lane, loving a good singsong around the campfire and country music. An avid sports fan, being a diehard Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs fan. James was a dedicated family man, making family first always. James is survived by his loving wife, Audrey (Munro) Parker, leaving behind his children, Karen (Terry Morgan), James (Tammy Parker), Susan (Ray Matthews), Bob (Georgina Parker), seven grandchildren, Robert and Brian Parker, James and Michael Parker, Johnathan and Christopher Matthews, and his only granddaughter, Denise Morgan, also great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Elizabeth, Kylie, Clara, Joyce, Lochlann, Elaina and Charlee-Rose, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by brothers, Reg, Ernie, and Frank and sisters, Mabel, Marg, Rita and Jean. He was predeceased by Geraldine, Eva, Bertha and Michael. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation and heartfelt thanks to doctors, nurses and supporting staff of 8.3 QEII Health Sciences Centre for their amazing care of our father and husband - We thank you. No visitation by request and a Private Extended Family Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 3rd at 1 pm at Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
