COUGHRAN, Lillian Florence – November 3, 1924 – January 2, 2019- Middle Sackville
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Mrs. Lillian Coughran. She passed away at her home on January 2, 2019. Lillian is survived by her two cherished grandsons, Craig Coughran (Amanda Hickey) of Hammonds Plains and Kevin Coughran (Amanda Coughran) of Beaver Bank; great grandchildren Rebecca Hickey, Karina Coughran and Brody Coughran. Predeceased by her loving husband, Mr. Walter Coughran and devoted son Earle Coughran; her parents Lillian and Theodore Bremner; siblings, Bill, Jean, Donald, Lyonal and Lorraine. Lill (as she was known to many) was a kind, gentle and genuine lady, who loved to give and never asked for anything in return. She spent her working years with Simpsons Sears. During her retirement she enjoyed spending many winters in Florida. Over the years many new born babies in Halifax area were wrapped in love as she knitted and donated thousands of hats, booties and blankets to the IWK for premature babies. Lill loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren making crafts and baking. She also looked forward to lunch dates with her grandsons and family (any meal she didn’t have to prepare was a great meal). Visitation will take place on Wednesday January 9th from 2 – 4pm , and a service will be held on Thursday January 10 at 10am all in J A Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive. A burial will follow in Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
A charitable donation can be made to the Heart and Stoke Foundation. For online condolences please visit: www.jasnowfuneralhome.com
