Obituary of Margaret Josephine Willett
It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Josephine Willett, age 78, announces her passing on June 12, 2019 at home in Lower Sackville, with her family by her side. Born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Kathryn (MacDonald) and Robert Willett. She is survived by her son, Robert (Deb Anderson) daughter, Karen (Don Card); sisters, Heather, May; brothers, Andrew and Donald (Eileen); grandchildren Morgan (Matt), Sidney, and Alexander (Brittany); great-grandsons, Jorden and Justin; several nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her daughter Heather Lynn; sister Willa, sister-in-law Florence Willett; brother-in-law Michael Teal. Margaret was born on January 31st, 1941 in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and moved to Halifax where she graduated from Dalhousie University and spent 37 years working as a Pharmacist. Margaret had a passion for gardening and could spend hours talking about the flowers and plants in her yard. If you came for a visit and admired a plant, there was a good chance you would leave with a piece for your own garden. She spent many hours at the Halifax Public Gardens walking, enjoying the scenery and listening to concerts on the weekend. Margaret also enjoyed her dates with “the girls” Helen, Joan, Jo, Bev and Dawn and visits with her nephew Stephen and his wife Donna. Margaret’s main joy in life came from spending time with her family and her eyes would light up when she spoke of her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a reception will be held on June 18th, 2019 from 1-3pm at Cruikshank's Funeral Home on Windsor Street in Halifax. Her daughter and son would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Morris Trager, Dr. Alwin Jeyakumar, Halifax VON, Barbara Stewart and the rest of the Palliative Care Team for their outstanding care and support. Memorial donations may be made to The Friends of the Public Gardens.
