Marie Ann Edwards

Marie Ann Edwards, 71 of Halifax, NS passed away November 3, 2018 in the QEII – Halifax Infirmary with her family by her side. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of Henry Thomas and Marion Lillian Ruth (nee Boutilier) Smith of Hammonds Plains. Marie was an avid bingo player with her friends at the Lakeside Fire Hall and St. Michael’s Church. She loved her Saturdays with her sister Pauline, brother Ronald and daughter-in-law Terri, and also spending time at the cottage in Liscomb Mills. Survived by her husband Paul Edwards, daughter Carol Edwards, daughter-in-law Terri Slauenwhite-Edwards, son Joe Edwards (Noriko) sisters, Lorraine Young, Pauline Hubley, Bonnie (Shane) Cook, Kathy (Stephen) Rhyno: brothers Orville (Debbie), Ronald, Byron and Victor; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Chris Edwards; brothers Gary, Basil, Keith; sisters Vonetta and Thelma in infancy. Marie was not only a loving wife, mother, friend, aunt, sister and grandmother, she also loved people in general, making friends wherever she went. She was also an animal lover and leaves behind her favorite furry friend LJ. Memorial service will be held on Saturday November 10, 2018 at 2:00 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, NS. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Wildlife Association or Bide Awhile Animal Shelter.
