Marty MacIntyre It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, nephew, cousin and friend, Martin Christopher “Marty” MacIntyre, age 48, on Monday, March 11, 2019 at home in St. John’s, NL. Born in Sydney, NS on June 11, 1970, he was the son of John Raymond and Helena (Lee) MacIntyre. He worked at Eastern Health St. John’s, NL. Marty was a loving, caring, kind man who would light up a room as soon as he walked in. He had a great sense of humour. To know him was to love him. Marty loved Football, Hockey, Jeopardy, Seinfeld, 80”s and old country music. He also had a soft spot for all animals. Marty enjoyed working as an extra in local film productions especially those featuring Tom Selleck. Along with his loving parents, he is survived by his wife, Amanda; sister, Helene Spampinato, Halifax; brothers, John (Lisa), Halifax, Dan (Tori), Dartmouth; his adoring nieces and nephews, Katie and Matthew Spampinato, Ryan and Paige MacIntyre, and many loving cousins. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Ray and Julie Flynn, Eddie Flynn, Helen and Lloyd MacPherson, and his side kick fur buddy, Lily. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Jedwiga and Ernest Flynn, Dan and Katherine MacIntyre; aunts, Delores Poirier (John J MacDonald, Leo Poirier), Judy Flynn and uncle Mike “Duke” MacIntyre, and brother-in-law, Joe Spampinato. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 10 am from St. Agnes Church, Mumford Road, Halifax, with Father Paul Morris officiating. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Family flowers only. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation. “Giddy up”
