Jadwiga Sorowka

In her 90th year, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family at St. Joseph’s Hospital (Hamilton, Ontario) on June 23, 2019. Jadwiga was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her husband of 58 years Joseph (predeceased in 2009), their four children John (Lynn), Barbara Miller (Tom), Andrew (Helen), Irene Hall (Bruce), seven grandchildren Carla, Corinne, Timothy, Stephanie, Michael, Neil, Austin and great grandson Easton Joseph. Jadwiga arrived in Canada in 1948 and was a longtime parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church, as well as a life member of the Holy Rosary Society. Heartfelt thanks to the wonderfully caring staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital palliative care unit. Visitation will be at TRUSCOTT, BROWN & DWYER FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1309 King Street East (across from Gage Park at the Delta) on Wednesday, June 26 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. Rosary will be at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church on Thursday at 10 am with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
