Marianna Zapora

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marianna on May 8, 2019 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of Aleksander for 59 years. Loving mother of Mirka Jargilo (Stan) and Wieslaw Zapora (Marta) in Poland. Cherished babcia of Marzena Curnew (Todd), Beata Buck (David), Piotr and Daniel Jargilo, Sylwia Chehab (Saad) and Pawel Zapora. Adoring pra-babcia of Ania, Kubus, Emilia and Hailey. Maria was born in Poland and immigrated to Canada with her husband in 1985. She created a beautiful home that was open to her family and friends who never needed an invitation to stop by. She loved to cook and always had a big supply of her famous kapusta, which she generously shared with everyone. She took great pride in her beautiful garden and happily received many compliments on her flowers. Above all else, she had the kindest heart especially towards her grandkids and great grandkids. She always managed to sneak in a special treat into their tiny pockets as they were leaving. Marianna will be sadly missed by all her family and friends in Canada and Poland. Special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at St. Joe’s Hospital (CTU Central 2) for their exceptional care. Visitation at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm with Rosary at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 8 St. Ann Street, on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 10am. Burial will take place in her beloved Poland where she will rest beside her parents.
