Obituary of Annie May MacDonald
Annie Mae MacDonald, age 94, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2019 in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Born in Judique on October 30, 1924, she was a daughter of the late John A. MacDonald and Lizzie Kennedy. Annie Mae was a member of St. Peter's Parish, Port Hood; grew up and and lived all her life on the family farm. In earlier years her family had a large farm, several animals. She loved to work outside and was very close to nature. She always enjoyed having dogs and Kelly was her last dog living at home with Donald James. She had beautiful penmanship and was a fluent Gaelic speaker and loved the Gaelic music and culture and enjoyed her drives into Port Hawkesbury. She was very close to her cousin and friend Theresa MacDonald, always keeping in touch on the telephone. She also had connections in Inverness, her aunt Margaret Hartford (Kennedy) and family and cousins in Judique. Annie Mae is survived by her sister, Peggy Cameron, P.E.I; nephews, Gordon, Weldon, Billy; niece, Moira and her best friend for over 50 years, Donald James Smith. Predeceased by her sisters, Mary (in infancy), Christine Trider (Harry); nieces, Alice, Margaret; nephews, John, George; brother-in-law, Bill Cameron. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held in St. Peter's Parish Cemetery, Port Hood at a later date.
