Danial Alexander "Sonny" Walker

Walker Danial Alexander "Sonny" age 67, It is with great sorrow the family of Danial Alexander "Sonny" Walker announces his sudden passing on Sunday, April 14th at home. Sonny was born on Tuesday, July 3rd, 1951 and was the son of the late Donald and Alice Marie (MacKinnon) Walker. He was raised by his loving grandmother Jessie (MacMaster) Walker. Sonny was a member of Stella Maris Parish, Inverness. He was predeceased by his partner of 45 years, Connie Moore; sisters, Donna (Glen Baumgartner), Doris (Langlois). He is also survived by his sons; Aaron (April MacDonald), Shamus Walker and his four beautiful grandchildren; Sage, Liam, Simon and Sadie. He will not meet the new grandchild, yet to arrive in August. He is also survived by sisters in law; Marion (Dougall), Terrie (Lennon), Murdell (Jim), Colleen (Charles), several nieces and nephews. Sonny will be sadly missed by his many friends and close relatives. Sonny spent his younger years in Blackstone before moving to Inverness with Jessie. He lived in Montreal for a couple of years before returning home. Sonny was a painter by trade. He also worked in construction, fisheries, forestry and mining industries. He had a great love of music and sang at many house parties. He was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and loved to tell stories. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. on Saturday May 4 in Stella Maris Church with Funeral Mass to follow at 11 a.m., Fr. Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
