Virginia K. Elder

Funeral services for Virginia Elder, 95 of Jackson will be conducted on Saturday at 1:00 PM at the South chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with burial to follow in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Mrs. Elder was born on February 10, 1924 in Jackson, TN to the late Dossie and Oma Richardson Keen. She was Baptist in faith, and was a manager in the food industry for many years. Other than her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Jessie Wayne Elder who passed away in 2002. They were married over 60 years. Survivors include two daughters Charlotte Smith Medina, TN , Martha Watkins of Jackson, TN; son; Jesse Wayne Elder Jr. and wife Brenda of Jackson, TN; Grandchildren, Patricia Marshall, Holly Francis, Ginger Taylor, Jimmy Rooker, Terry Smith, Gary Smith, Teresa Vann,Mark Smith, Debbie Click, Tammy Surratt, Melissa Roland, Jason Martin. A host of Great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
