Aaron Clay Smith
March 18, 1975 – May 22, 2019

Aaron Clay Smith, age 44, of Johnson City, Tennessee, died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday morning, May 22, 2019 after a long battle with diabetes. He was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, a son of Charles B. and Charlotte Lee Patterson Smith. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one infant son, Kash Smith. He was the grandson of the late W.B. and Ruth Smith, and Craig and Bertha Lee Patterson.
Aaron was employed by Fresh Market as an Assistant Produce Manager since their coming to Johnson City. His fellow employees enjoyed his friendly smiles and funny stories. He was a self-taught musician and played guitar with different bands. He enjoyed playing music with his close friends, Travis Guinn and Troy Owens.
He is survived by the love of his life, April and their daughter Isabella; his mother, Charlotte Smith; two brothers, Paul Smith and Kevin Smith and wife Tiffany; two nephews, Alec and Brenden Smith; two nieces Kennedy Smith and Maddie Ford; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of special friends.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Sunday, May 26, 2019 at
Monte Vista Funeral Home. Committal Service and Interment will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, May 27, 2019 at Philadelphia Cemetery, 785 Snapp Bridge Road, Limestone, TN. His brother Kevin Smith will deliver the Eulogy.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Rita Plemmons, Dr. Cris R. Larzo, staff of Johnson City Eye Clinic, and all his co-workers at Fresh Market for all their love, care and friendship shown to Mr. Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to American Juvenile Diabetes Association, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
