Obituary of Earl "Pete" Richard Brown
Psalm 91:1&2; He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Earl Richard Brown, affectionately known as “Pete”, age 76, of Jonesborough, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Johnson City Medical Center. He was born in Banner Elk, North Carolina, a son of the late Ralph Brown, Sr. and Rexie Vernal Hughes Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ralph Brown, Jr., Louise Giles, Eula Hurt, and Mary Porch. Pete was a graduate of Science Hill High School and a veteran of the United States Army. During his time of service he received the following decorations and citations; Sharpshooter M-1 Riffle. He was a member of Gray Station Baptist Church, and enjoyed taking mission trips with the church. He retired with over 30 years of service as a baker from Rainbow Bakery. He was an avid farmer. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Brown; his three children, Tracy Bundy and Bri, Jennifer White and husband Anthony, and Mike Brown; seven grandchildren, Charity Stone and husband Jake Stapleton, Jordan Stone, Autumn Farmer, Luke White, Evan White, Kaitlin Brown, and Taylor Brown; one great granddaughter, Sailor Stapleton; one brother, Glen Brown; a special friend, Billy Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Arden Taylor officiating. Committal Service and Interment will be held Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Garden of Peace at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Military honors to be rendered by Boone Dam VFW Post #4933. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Jonesborough Rescue Squad, and all the Doctors and Nurses at the Johnson City Medical Center Emergency Room for all their love and care that was shown.
